KTM 200 Duke on rent is an extremely focused street bike. It is simply the king, emperor, lord (oops that’s taken), overlord of the Indian streets. Very light and extremely flickable with neck jerking take off every time one pins the throttle, there is no other bike that can match the baby Duke in the streets. But this single-minded focus also limits the 200 Duke to some extent. The short-stroke and short geared engine of the 200 Duke make it a street hooligan but this also takes its toll in the highway cruising capability. The bike easily crosses 100 kmph but the engine takes a slightly stressed nature. The handling which is extremely agile in the city feels a bit over-enthusiastic on open stretches with a slight amount of oversteer. The urgent nature of the engine and light handling makes the 200 Duke an unmatched street hooligan but it also means that the versatility of the bike is compromised. The 200 Duke does one thing well and it does it bloody well.

 KTM RC390. Of late I have developed kind of disinterest for full faired bikes. I find the kind of models available in India like the Yamaha R15, Honda CBR 150/250R and even the Kawasaki Ninja 300 more kind of poser stuff than actually being true to its track bike genre. I actually find it amusing when someone says how sporty riding position of the R15 is. Anyone who says so should be put on a “real” super sports machine or even the KTM RC390 would do..!! The handlebars on the RC390 looks to be pure super sports stuff. The KTM RC390 looks totally impractical for commuting, which is exactly why this is one “Dhoom” machine that I am falling in love with. As this knock out will be manufactured and sold by Bajaj in India, surely this will be a dream machine that will be within reach of desi bikers.. provided that the desi biker has a second bike/scooter/car to commute. Being an Indian biker and not getting this would be a kind of “Sin”. I have a car for commute.. so.
